The second edition of the Babalakin & Co. Art Competition & Exhibition was a resounding success, reaffirming the Firm’s commitment to supporting Nigeria’s creative industry through meaningful corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Held under the theme “Japa to Japada: Beyond Borders, Within Boundaries,” this year’s competition attracted over 230 submissions from talented artists across the country. The remarkable quality and diversity of the entries reflected the growing prestige of the competition and the exceptional depth of Nigeria’s creative talent, making the judging process both rigorous and highly competitive.
The Exhibition brought together clients, business leaders, members of the diplomatic community, collectors, artists, and other distinguished guests for an evening of art, dialogue, and networking. Beyond celebrating artistic excellence, the event created an important platform for conversations around identity, migration, belonging, and the evolving role of art in shaping society.
The evening concluded with the announcement of the competition winners and recorded a significant increase in artwork sales compared to the previous year, underscoring the growing impact and recognition of the initiative within the creative community.
